Pollie’s Place Blog…It’s finally here!

Pollie's place decor & lifestyle blog..........It's Finally Here!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have a passion for decor. Starting a blog has been a dream of mine for sometime, but it's also a little terrifying! I am in no way a professional writer, but I love to share home decor and lifestyle tips! I love to decorate my client's homes and I look forward to sharing that with you, also. I hope you will follow along with me as I start this new journey!

My hope is to inspire you to love your home on any budget, to learn how to take something old and make it beautiful again, to shop smartly when purchasing those big ticket items, and share my decor secrets with you. So, lets be friends...okay! 🙌🏻  I promise to keep things real! Because, behind all the beautiful pictures, we all have that ONE room that we would just crawl up and die if anyone saw it...RIGHT! And that's ok! My husband calls mine "The Hoarder Room!"😂  Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to show it to you!🙈

I'm so excited to share my home and heart with you!❤ I like to roll my sleeves up and get dirty with a good DIY project, and I love me some chalkpaint. I try to find the beauty in all things. I hope you enjoy my tutorials and find inspiration in my posts. I really appreciate you stopping by and I hope you come back often!

Springtime Home Tour

🌷Spring has sprung🌷

I would say that besides Christmas, spring is my favorite season to decorate for. So, I wanted to give you a little tour of my springtime dining room.

The beautiful spring pastel colors just make the home feel like it's so happy and alive! I seriously love spring! Just by adding some bursts of color with real or faux flowers, can effortlessly transition your home into spring. I like to bring the garden inside, and you don't have to have a green thumb to do so! 🌿

This springtime tablescape was super easy and cheap! I love using old Ball mason jars as vases and their beautiful blue color is perfect for spring. If you don't have any, check your Grandmother's attic or your local flea market. If you follow me on Instragram, you know that I love "all white everything!" I especially love white dishes and decorating with them. They are very versatile and can easily be used with every season. This cute little cake stand was only $5 at the Target dollar spot and the napkins were $3. Score! Another little secret I'll share with you is, the little bird nests are actually Christmas ornaments! I love to re-use and re-cycle to save money!

Like I said earlier, I definitely do not have a green thumb, but I do have a local supermarket that has fabulous, affordable flowers! Another option is to "go for faux." Faux does not mean "fake looking" anymore! The faux flowers now look so real that you cannot tell the difference! Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Pier One, Pottery Barn, Magnolia Market, and Amazon all have a great selection of faux flowers.

Here is a look at the springtime tablescape with faux hydrangeas. I love how the vintage blue Ball mason jars pop against the subtle white and green from the hydrangeas. I get asked often where my table, chairs, and cabinet are from. They are all from Pier One. I will link them for you below. I hope I've inspired you to bring a little spring into your dining room! 🌿

Welcome! 🙌🏻😀

I'm so glad you are here! I've wanted to start a blog for quite some time and I thought spring would be the perfect time to launch it. Spring symbolizes a time of rebirth and renewal, and that's what this blog is for me!

With spring comes the promise that everything can begin again, a time of letting go and embracing something new. The air seems fresher, the step lighter, and spring fever fills our hearts. Newly built nests filled with delicate little eggs begin to fill the trees and fragrant blossoms are all around. I love to incorporate all these elements of spring into my decor.🌷🌿

The first thing you see as you come into my house is my entryway credenza. It's adorned by these two gorgeous chippy windows that came out of a local church. They are still one of my all time favorite finds! I would say I have an eclectic style: a little farmhouse shabby chic, mixed with some French cottage, a dash of rustic, and a whole lot of yummy chippy goodness.

This year I decided to do something a little "out of the box" and tape my faux tulips to the windows with the cutest tape ever! Both the tulips and the "Bless Your Home" tape are from Magnolia Market. I love how it turned out! Throw in some chippy corbels, candlesticks, a doughbowl with some gorgeous tulips...aaaaand voila! 👏🏻  🙌🏻  I will admit that I have a little obsession with chippy corbels and doughbowls. Who am I kidding, I have a huge obsession! I have them in all shapes and sizes and they are perfect to decorate with from season to season.

I wanted to share a close up of my entryway credenza. I just love the intricate details carved into the wood. When searching for classic statement pieces of furniture, I always try to choose neutral, timeless pieces that can easily be transformed by adding some pops of color with seasonal greenery and florals. That way you can switch things out and not break the bank! I also love to "shop the house!" Which just basically means, as my husband says, "moving things from one room to another." I promise you there is a lot more thought that goes into it than that, but it works well when your on a budget! Lol!
